Application of Laser Rangefinder Module in Laser Guidance of Missiles

Laser guidance technology is a high-precision and high-efficiency method in modern missile guidance systems. Among them, Laser Rangefinder Module plays a vital role as one of the core components of laser guidance system.


Laser guidance is the use of laser beam irradiation target, through the reception of laser signals reflected from the target, through the photoelectric conversion and information processing, resulting in the target's position parameter signals, and then used to track the target and control the flight of the missile through the signal conversion. This kind of guidance method has the advantages of high precision and strong anti-jamming ability, so it is widely used in modern missile systems.


Laser Rangefinder Module is a key component in laser guidance system, which utilizes laser emission and reception to measure the distance between the target and the missile. Specifically, the working principle of Laser Rangefinder Module includes the following steps:


① Transmit laser: the laser transmitter inside the Laser Rangefinder Module sends out a monochromatic, unidirectional, coherent laser beam to irradiate the target object.


② Receive laser: After the laser beam irradiates the target object, part of the laser energy is reflected back and received by the receiver of the Laser Rangefinder Module.


③ Signal processing: the received laser signal is converted into an electrical signal by the photodiode or photoresistor inside the module, and is processed by signal amplification, filtering, etc. to get a clear reflected signal.


④ Distance Measurement: The distance between the target and the missile is calculated by measuring the time difference of the laser pulse from transmission to reception, combined with the speed of light.


In the laser guidance system of a missile, the Laser Rangefinder Module provides accurate guidance information for the missile by continuously measuring the distance between the target and the missile. Specifically, the Laser Rangefinder Module transmits the measured distance data to the control system of the missile, and the control system continuously adjusts the flight trajectory of the missile according to this information so that it can accurately and quickly approach and hit the target. At the same time, Laser Rangefinder Module can also be combined with other sensors to realize multi-source information fusion and improve the missile's guidance accuracy and anti-jamming ability.
